I received a mobi.file of this book from the author after requesting a copy to review it, and the following is my honest opinion.

If you’ve ever had to plan a birthday surprise party for a good friend, then allow your inner child to become the main protagonist, Giraffe, and your good friend is Chimpanzee. The first thing you’ll need to do it to find a place to party, and like you had found it somewhat problematical where to have it because of issues surrounding the suggestion you had gotten, so did Giraffe. Elephant had suggestion the river – no good, too wet. Monkey suggested his treehouse – no good, Giraffe wouldn’t be able to climb the tree. It wasn’t until Giraffe took a good look around and found a place where everyone would be able to have a great time enjoying being at Chimpanzee’s party.

This is a captivating, wonderfully illustrated story whose intention is giving its young readers a subliminal lesson regarding teamwork, working together with others so everyone would be able to have a good time. And it’s because of the teamwork of the author, Deb Hockenberry, and her illustrator, Emily Dimov-Gottshall, that I’ve given this book the 5 STARS it has gotten.

This book is perfect for young children, who are sure to be involved and engaged in solving a difficult problem. Four friends of different animal species, various shapes, sizes, and abilities to deal with environments, must find the place that would be inclusive to all, where they can throw a party for a fifth animal. How can you find the right spot for a giraffe, a monkey, an elephant, and a snake, all wishing to have the perfect birthday party for a chimpanzee? Well, if only adults could be so inclusive, cooperative, and tolerant, life would be much more enchanting, but while that is just a dream, at least you can enjoy a beautiful book that will bring a smile to your face as you read it to the little ones. The warm, well-written text by the brilliant Deb Hockenberry is perfectly matched by the lovely, charming pictures by talented illustrator Emily Dimov-Gottshall. I greatly enjoyed my visit to Hungle Bungle Jungle Park, and you will too!
I loved this book by Deb Hockenberry. It's twenty pages of fun and learning. The animal friends want to have a party for Chimpanzee. Everyone makes a suggestion for the perfect place to hold the big event. Elephant thinks the party should be in his favorite place, the river, but the birthday boy, Chimpanzee doesn't like water. Snake has an idea, too,but the place he likes is too small. This is a delightful book little children will adore.Not only is the story fun and educational, but the cute, colorful, illustrations are wonderful. Children will want to read this book over and over.
it's sure to keep them engaged and smiling. Congratulations,Deb on a job well done.No doubt your first book will be a huge success.

Something wonderful was about to happen in Hungle Bungle Jungle, but first some real life decisions had to be made. Four great friends were playing on Elephant’s swing set when Giraffe arrived walking over to the sliding board and stood behind Elephant. Would you believe that Giraffe had this amazing and wonderful idea for Chimpanzee’s birthday? Imagine caring enough about a friend to want to make her a party for her birthday. What problems could that cause? Well, author Deb Hockenberry, wisely through Giraffe, will help unravel the solution but first Elephant sails down the sliding board, splash and lands in a mud puddle. Looks like fun. Elephant being really nice and kind volunteer to have the party in the river. Unfortunately, Chimpanzee does not like the water. So, monkey who was hanging upside down had another suggestion. Maybe they could have the part in her treehouse! But, that would leave poor Giraffe out because Giraffe can’t climb up? Once again Giraffe asked Where can we have the party? Monkey searched and searched all around and heard a strange noise. Would you believe there was a workman creating a sign for Hungle Bungle Jungle! But, still no solution for where to have the party as Snake offered to have it in Snake’s burrow but unfortunately the burrow was too small for all of the four friends to fit. Giraffe was sad, put his head down in his hooves and looked like he was going to cry as a tear slid down his face. So sad! What where they going to do? Thinking really hard and realizing that the solution was right there in front of them they headed down to Hungle Bungle Jungle Park and you won’t believe what they found there! Snake, Monkey, Elephant and Giraffe got started on their plan to give Chimpanzee the best party ever. But, since it’s a surprise and I promised the author and the four friends I would not give it away or tell you if their solution worked you are going to have to read this fantastic book to find out. Illustrations are colorful and amazing helping young readers and non-readers understand the plot and the story line and join in the fun. Where did they have the party? What happens when Chimpanzee finds out? Is Chimpanzee happy? Do they have fun and lots of great birthday cake? Was this the best party ever? Find out when you read Where Can We Have The Party by author Deb Hockenberry. This is a great book that fosters cooperation, friendship, understanding, caring, loyalties and creativity. So, when anyone out there wants to have a party start as the author does at the beginning of the book and create a list of where you might start and go from there. The characters are great friends and it would be great to have them come back again for more adventures.
