This is the perfect follow-up for "Walking in Beauty". Daniel who is a lonely Native American, is the "Rainsinger". He is living alone on an abandoned peach farm his ancestors planted many years ago. His best friend is a woman he loved for many years but never told her. He is trying to hold on to his ancestors land because that is all he feels attached to, and sadly it is all he really has. Winnona is a botanist. She and her younger sister have lost their parents and have no where else to go but back to their grandmothers peach farm, which unknown to them Daniel is inhabiting. They struggle with who deserves the farm, the relationship between the three of them, and the harsh summer's heat which threatens to destroy the peaches they both are depending on. I found myself quickly falling in love with all tof them as they try to work out their problem without someone being really hurt in the process. Barbara Samuel is an exceptional writer, and she weaves in a couple of well-written romantic (sexy) scenes. These only make the story better as it gives expression to the sweet love building up between Daniel and Winnona.

Love this author...all her books have different story lines and realistic people
This was a great story as a follow up to Men of the Land Book 1, but also as a stand alone story.
Good read. her books are not all about the romance, though that is the part we like. Her books also tell a story about a region or culture that is educating.
Well written, but way too predictable. I want to be suprised by a story, not know where it is going from the very first chapter. This is the same as the last book in the series, just different names and locations. Author needs new ideas badly!
A very fast paced and interesting read.Full of mystery and suspense.Teaching a little bit of the Indian ways without preaching .
Daniel Lynch, a secondary character in Walk in Beauty, is given his own love story in this wonderful novel. It explores love in so many ways romantic, family, cultural, land, etc. The relationship between Daniel and Winona unfolds realistically, yet the author takes it to a higher plane with her evocative writing...truly lovely in its emotion and truth. I loved Rainsinger just as much as Walk in Beauty and highly recommend both.
I love Samuel's stories. The characters are fasinating and smart. The story will suck you in and you will try to find every extra second to get back to the book. I don't know how Samuel's develops her characters, but they are alway intriquing, sensual and mature characters. These are wonderful human stories that want me to jump right into the story and meet the characters. I have loved many of Samuel's books and look forward to many more stories and adventures. A+
